Raegan and I chose Fleckvieh Simmental cattle because we feel strongly that the Fleckvieh breed is "the complete package". They are packed with meat, muscle, and milk wrapped up in a disposition that makes them a pleasure to work with. All of our dams are producing vigorous calves with little or no calving problems. These calves wean off heavy and forage well after wean. Raegan and I have even selected Fleck or Fleck percentage cows to serve as our recipients. We want cows that represent the best maternal qualities raising our best calves and Fleckvieh cows meet that criterion.

Here at the Double Diamond Ranch our goal has been to produce the best Fleckvieh seedstock possible. Over the past 5 years we have established a small, elite herd based around our 6 donors. At the current time we are producting around 20 embryo calves and another 20 artificially inseminated calves from a select group of females. Matings are given careful consideration before a sire is selected for breeding. We've made it a priority to acquire both a varied and unique assortment of sires to utilize in our A.I. and E.T. programs. Old genetics such as Seigfried, Hamlet, Romulus, and Overhall Hivy compliment up and coming bulls like Mezcal, Broadway, and Marco to produce the quality Fleckvieh genetics we seek. Our herdsire, BHR Shogun, rounds out our calf crop each year with a quality group of natural bred calves.

We welcome any inquiries about the Fleckvieh breed or our operation here at the Double Diamond Ranch. The cattle will be offered at several sales throughout the year as advertised on our website or at anytime by private treaty. Visitors are always welcome. Raegan and I enjoy nothing better than just "talkin' cattle".
